About Us

Poverty Transmission Initiative (PTI) was founded in 2009 to address the urgent needs of young street children and provide them with a path to a better future. Our organization began with a focus on rehabilitating approximately 150 street children, ages 5 to 12, offering them care and support.

Over the years, our mission has expanded to address broader social and environmental challenges facing many Kenyans. We aim to create forums and initiatives to support young, innovative individuals who, despite their potential, struggle due to a lack of resources and opportunities. We are dedicated to sensitizing communities about environmental conservation, particularly in the face of climate change and drought mitigation.

Our efforts are especially critical in regions like Nyando, where farming—an essential livelihood for many—is threatened by harsh climatic conditions, including floods and droughts. These issues are exacerbated by carbon emissions and have led to widespread job losses, affecting over 400,000 Kenyans in both direct and indirect ways.

Our organization is committed to the creation, protection, and conservation of ecosystems to support both biotic and abiotic life. We focus on passionate young Kenyans who face harsh environments due to infringements on their rights, unequal resource distribution, environmental degradation, unemployment, and disabilities.

PTI is dedicated to identifying, reacting to, and recommending solutions for these challenges. We use policies, media, and relevant forums to advocate for equality and address the specific needs of marginalized youth, who often lack a voice and face exploitation, particularly during election periods,
