Founded in Kisumu, Kenya, the Poverty Transition Initiative (PTI) is a community-centered non-governmental organization dedicated to driving environmental sustainability, zero-waste management, and grassroots climate resilience. Our mission is to empower local communities—particularly through youth- and women-led circular economy enterprises, decentralized composting, and urban agroforestry initiatives inspired by environmental stewardship. By bridging local grassroots action with broader municipal frameworks, PTI transforms waste into opportunity, champions sustainable resource use, and fosters thriving, climate-resilient ecosystems across Kenya.
